If it fails to pass the standard, it will be put in some more and tested until it meets the standard. Why? Because the density of water is higher than that of oil, the water will sink underneath and the wet oil can be replaced.
It is specified that the dry-type transformer shall:
1. Stop operation as soon as possible;
2. Drain the transformer oil completely;
3. Try to air dry the dry-type transformer, which is very high voltage winding resistance;
4. New transformer oil can be filled only after it is completely dry;
5. Use high voltage grounding megger to conduct AC withstand voltage test on insulation layer, and the fund can be put into operation only after reaching the standard.
